The Free Spirit

Curious, honest, and happily marching to their own beat.

Type B is the stereotype of the passionate individualist. They dive deep into whatever catches their interest, say what they think, and lose track of time. People find them fun and a little unpredictable. In Korea the type B image is so strong that a 2005 romantic comedy was titled "My Boyfriend Is Type B".

✦ Strengths

  • Straightforward: you always know where you stand
  • Adapts quickly and is rarely bothered by what others think

△ Watch out for

  • Gets bored by routine and drops things halfway
  • Can come across as blunt or self-centred
  • Plans change on a whim, which frustrates more structured friends

Type B in love

Type B is said to fall fast and openly. They want a partner who is also a friend and who gives them space for their own interests. Jealousy and tight schedules make them feel trapped, while shared adventures keep the spark alive.

Type B at work

Type B shines in creative, flexible roles where they can follow their curiosity. They are the colleague who comes up with the unusual idea in a meeting. Rigid processes and micromanagement drain them quickly.
